Houston 2009 Annual Meeting

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists will present the International Exposition and Seventy-Ninth Annual Meeting to be held in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, USA, 25–30 October 2009. You are invited to participate and explore the displays of more than 300 exhibiting companies and universities, attend any of over 700 technical presentations and workshops, and continue your education by attending professional development courses.

16 September—Housing reservation closes
22 September—Advanced registration closes

This is truly an international event with thirty percent of the attendees coming from outside North America.

This is also an opportunity to explore a revitalized Houston downtown. New hotels, new restaurants, and entertainment within walking distance of the convention center will provide additional networking opportunities at the end of the day.

Technical Program
A near-record number of abstracts have been received for this year's Annual Meeting. This will rank Houston 2009 as number two for the most submissions received for an SEG Annual Meeting, second only to the 2008 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, USA. The Technical Program Committee has been hard at work finalizing the program. The full program will be available online in August.

Involvement in the International Showcase is the ideal opportunity to network with over 9000 geoscience peers and professionals! The International Showcase is well known around the world as “the Global Meeting Place.” Join us in learning more about exciting opportunities and developing trends from the Middle East and other regions of the world. Over 600 technical presentations are also available and the Global Theatre (located in the International Showcase) will host 20 presentations focusing on challenges in the Middle East.
