Committees at SEG

Being a member-driven society, SEG’s continued success depends on its standing and ad hoc committees (which total approximately 30 in most years). These committees play a vital role in impacting geophysics in particular and the earth sciences in general.

In the past, committee participation required face-to-face meetings, which excluded most members. As part of SEG’s global strategy, members may now participate in most committee meetings from anywhere in the world if they have telephones, broadband Internet access, and a few extra hours to devote to deliberations.
