My name is Marel Sanchez, I am looking for a full time job as a seismic interpreter in Houston Texas, USA. I have been working as a Geoscientific since 1993. Recently, I worked for Petrobras in the International Exploration Department in Angola, where I worked for different blocks operated by Petrobras (26, 18/06, and 6/06, as a partner in 15/06 and 34) in sat/subsalt and pre-salt related plays. Also, I was working before in block biding evaluation in Turkey and Libya. These experiences with national oil companies moving international environment has been challenging in term of work plan commitments and deliveries expected in areas with difficulties in being operated.  
 

Before Petrobras I have worked in PDVSA for more than 9 years involve in Production and Exploration activities with complex geological setting and related to geological operations, seismic acquisition and processing, and seismic interpretation in mature fields and exploration areas.

I am a graduate of the University of Houston with a B.S. in Geology. I am currently finishing my Master’s in Petroleum Geology from the same university and will be graduating in August 2010. I am an extremely motivated and hard worker with over 12 years of supervisory and leadership experience. Including my academic experience, geological internship and my field experience with KHA Geologics, I have 2 years of geological experience in subsurface mapping, well correlations, seismic interpretation and drilling operations. I also have experience with Geographix, Seisworks and Kingdom software suites.

I am currently working as a geological intern at Marathon Oil Company. During my time with Marathon, I have gained and continue to gain valuable industry knowledge and experience working in the East Texas basin and the unconventional gas shale plays. I am currently mapping and correlating wells in both the Haynesville and Bossier shales using GeoGraphix, as well as interpreting seismic in Seisworks software. My internship ends August 13, 2010 and I will then be ready to continue my geological career with a strong and reliable oil and gas company.
