The following SEG standards are provide in an online, downloadable form as a convenience to the geophysical industry. Many of the earlier standards have been converted to Microsoft Word 7.0 format from the originally published form. Significant care has been taken to accurately convert the documents. If differences are found between the original publications and the online versions or if problems are encountered with the documents, please notify the Chairman of the SEG Technical Standards Committee. In case of differences, the original publications are the authority.
The MS Word documents are provided as read-only documents. When the documents are opened, select the Read Only button on the Password dialog that is displayed by Word.
All standards can be downloaded at once in this ZIP file.

Updated version of RODE format with amended SEG Y example. This document is an updated version of Booth, Algan, Duke, Guyton, Norris, Stainsby, Theriot, Wildgoose and Wilhelmsen, SEG Rode Format Record Oriented Data Encapsulation: Geophysics, 61, no. 05, 1545-1558.

The SEG Y Data Exchange Format (rev 0) was published in 1975, and has achieved widespread usage. However, since 1975, the nature of seismic data acquisition, processing, and seismic hardware has changed significantly. SEG Y rev 1 addresses these changes and updates the format for modern usage.
