Yearbook

In an effort to keep members as informed as possible about the Society, SEG publishes a Yearbook in May of every year.

The Yearbook explains about the Society, how it is organized, and how it grows. This information, along with a membership listing, awards, a staff directory, and volunteer lists, gives reader more knowledge about SEG.

SEG is dependant upon volunteers who donate time, effort, and money. Because so much is needed from the geophysicists, volunteer positions are continually in transition and many of these positions are fairly short-term. The Yearbook acknowledges these volunteers and informs the membership about SEG, who is helping the Society, and what they are doing.

Many of these items are found elsewhere on SEG's Web site to make locating information as convenient as possible.

Questions regarding SEG or the Yearbook can be directed to SEG by e-mail, phone (+1.918.497.5500), or mail

Warning
In recent years, many SEG members have received letters inviting them to participate in financial investments. It is believed these contacts were based on information obtained from the SEG Yearbook.

Most, if not all, of these offers are fraudulent. They are not endorsed by SEG. Representatives of the SEG Business Office have learned that the U.S. federal government has been investigating this problem. However, their efforts do not appear to have had much impact, and the Business Office has been advised that some members are continuing to receive these solicitations.

Consequently, members are advised to carefully investigate any financial proposal if the address on the correspondence is identical to that contained in the SEG Yearbook.
