Eduardo Filpo

Eduardo Filpo is currently senior geophysical advisor for PETROBRAS/E&P-Exploration at its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. He has been working for PETROBRAS since 1985 when he started his career supervising seismic land acquisition. He later worked as processor, instructor, developer, and manager of geophysical technology.

Eduardo has a degree in geology (1983) and a PhD (under Peter Hubral) from Federal University of Bahia (1993) for research in true-amplitude migration. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Wave Phenomena at Colorado School of Mines (2007-2008).

Eduardo's interests include seismic imaging, data regularization, velocity analysis, time-to-depth conversion, and multiple suppression. He has patents in Brazil, the United States, and Europe. He has developed several methods and programs that have been extensively used by PETROBRAS.
