David H. Carlson
Dave Carlson received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University in 1965; and his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Case Western Reserve University, 1969. Dave was a Mathematics Professor at the University of Missouri from 1969-1980. He was an Adjunct Professor of Geophysics at the University of Houston 1986-1995, teaching evening classes on the inversion of seismic data. He currently works at Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) as Principal Research Geophysicist. Recent emphasis of activity has been in dual sensor acquisition and processing techniques. Earlier work (late 1980's) included over/under acquisition and processing techniques. He served on the SEG Continuation Education Committee (Chairman 2007-2008 and 2008-2009) and was member of the Geophysical Society of Houston (Spring Symposium General Chairman – 2010 and First Vice President – 2010-2011). He is a member of SEG and EAGE and GSH.
