Jan van der Kruk
Jan van der Kruk received an MSc degree in Electrical Engineering in 1995 and a PhD in Geophysics in 2001 from Delft University of Technology. From 2001 to 2008, he was a Lecturer and Senior Researcher with the Applied and Environmental Geophysics Group at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland. His research career has focused upon the development of imaging and inversion methodologies and their application to solving applied problems. Since 2008, he holds a professorship position with RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and is a research group leader with the Research Center Jülich, Germany. Recent work has focused on the inversion of dispersive GPR waves propagating in surface waveguides, GPR full-waveform inversion techniques, and multi-configuration inversion of electromagnetic induction data. Since 2009, he is associate editor for GPR in Geophysics. He was president-elect/president/past-president of the Near Surface Geophysics Section (NSGS) of the SEG in 2009/2010/2011, and was general chair of the International Workshop on Advanced GPR in 2011 (IWAGPR2011), Aachen Germany.
