Topic: Using Varied Geophysical Technologies to Close the Loop on Exploration Success in the Albertine Graben, Uganda

Biography: Joe Mongan has over 26 years of experience in oil and gas exploration, principally in data acquisition and processing. Over the past 16 years his work in a leading role enabled Tullow Oil's geophysical exploration efforts to deliver significant growth in 23 countries on 4 continents. His focus in recent years has been in design and cost effective execution of geophysical surveys for optimized sub-surface imaging in Tullow Oil's core plays, especially in Africa. He has also worked extensively on developing joined-up technical workflows and exploration and production management systems across many disciplines in Tullow Oil, to enhance the company’s growth through business agility. He is currently Global Manager of Tullow's Geophysical Technology Group, in Dublin. He holds a B.Sc. in Geology and an M.Sc. in Applied Science from University College, Dublin.
