Topic: Should We Still Explore for New Hydrodcarbons in Latin America?

Biography: Since 2005 Carlos Macellari has worked as the Worldwide Director of Geology for Repsol Exploración S.A. in Madrid. From 1999 to 2005 he served as Vice President of Exploration and Business Development for Hocol S.A. based in Bogota, Colombia. Prior to his work at Hocol, Dr. Macellari was the General Manager for Latin America of Benton Oil & Gas Co, in Caracas, Venezuela. He also held several positions in Shell as Senior Geologist, based in the USA and Holland. Between 1984 and ‘88 he was a Research Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina, USA. Dr. Macellari has a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from Ohio State University and a Licenciado en Geologia degree from the Universidad de La Plata in Argentina. He has been a guest lecturer in many international forums and has published over 40 international scientific publications.
