14th International Showcase emerges as the “Global Meeting Place” for SEG delegates

This talented quartet serenaded delegates at “The Middle East: Back to the Future” reception.
The International Showcase was a dominant presence at SEG’s Annual Meeting in Houston, USA, featuring 32 booths from companies demonstrating the latest in technology, academia, national oil companies, IOC’s, and service firms from all over the world. The energy was palpable as delegates gathered for technical exchange, business development, and networking, as well as more than 20 presentations featuring oil exploration and development in the Middle East.
The Middle East Reception
International Showcase Co-Chairmen Gary Crouse and Samir Abdelmoaty welcomed delegates to a special reception on Tuesday afternoon that featured Middle Eastern foods, beverages, and entertainment. Noted Crouse, “The International Showcase is an area where the smaller organizations from literally around the World have an opportunity to get maximum visibility by being grouped in the International Showcase…and the Global Theatre is a unique forum that offers a platform for regional leaders in the industry.”

SEG President Larry Lines and President-elect Steve Hill also addressed the crowd. Said Lines, “This year the International Showcase kicks off its 14th year here in Houston. Globalization is a significant focus for the growth of our Society. As most of you know the SEG opened an office in Beijing this past year and we look forward to continued regional growth and additional offices supported by the SEG.”
After thanking the many volunteers who united to make the Showcase a success, Crouse concluded by thanking the Showcase sponsors: “One of the great benefits of the International Showcase is the assistance it provides to International Delegates for their travel, accommodations, registration and exhibit expenses. The generous funding we receive enables us to stage the event and provide support to those that may not be able to attend without your help,“ he said.
