Near Surface Geophysics Asia Pacific ConferenceThe continuing growth in influence of near surface geophysics has brought this area of geophysics to the forefront. As a result, in an unprecedented move, a Near Surface Geophysics Asia Pacific Conference was approved by five international geophysical societies.

This conference will focus on near-surface issues within the Asia Pacific region and provide a world-class forum to your new technical advances, developments and applications in near-surface geophysics.

We welcome submission of papers covering theoretical developments and case histories in the broad topic of near surface geophysics, including:

Workshop process:
  1. The committee will review applications and papers to determine acceptance.
  2. If you have been accepted you will be notified by mid May.
  3. Once you have been accepted you will receive registration and housing information by e-mail.
  4. Register and pay the fee to attend the workshop.
  5. Make housing reservations with hotel.
  6. Enjoy the workshop and make some great contacts.
Registration:

The registration fee for professionals by 13 June is US$450. After 13 June, the price increases to US$550. The registration fee for students by 13 June is US$300. After 13 June, the price increases to $US400.

Schedule:

Tuesday, 16 July: Registration
Wednesday, 17 July–Friday, 19 July: Full day break-out sessions in the mornings and afternoons. There will be a gala dinner on one of the evenings.

The meeting will be held at the Beijing International Convention Center in Beijing, China.

Visa information/invitation letter:

Participants in the Near Surface Geophysics Asia Pacific Conference may generate an official invitation letter using the form below. This form will generate a letter which you can print and use in obtaining a visa.

For those whose company or organization is planning on sending more than one individual to the workshop, additional documentation may be required for scheduling an appointment with the local Chinese embassy. If additional assistance is required, fill out a separate invitation letter for each individual requesting a visa using the form below. Each invitation letter has a unique reference number. Produce one cover letter listing all individuals requesting a visa. The letter must include the following information for each individual:

  • name
  • passport number
  • date and place of birth
  • nationality as it appears on the passport
  • reference number from the invitation letter

Please note that this letter does not guarantee that you will be granted a visa, nor does it commit SEG to pay any expenses you may incur.
