SIGMA3 puts a focus on engineering in newly expanded Englewood, CO facility

23 February 2013—SIGMA3 Integrated Reservoir Solutions, Inc. has relocated its Colorado-based engineering disciplines to its newly expanded office in Englewood, Colorado. The new office will house the petroleum engineering and microseismic and borehole imaging teams from APEX and Continuous Fracture Modeling Geomodeling group, formerly located in Greenwood, Colorado.

 

SIGMA3 announces Todd Deering as director of software quality

26 February 2013—SIGMA3 Integrated Reservoir Solutions, Inc. announced the appointment of Todd Deering as director of software quality. Deering has more than 12 years of experience developing, deploying, and operating quality systems. He will oversee QA and change management across all of the company's software technology products, including CRYSTALT and GeoPROT.

In his new role, Deering will lead the software quality practice. Deering joins SIGMA3 from JP Morgan Chase, where he led the investment bank's risk technology performance & automation team.

 

Blueback Reservoir announced the release of the Blueback Project Tracker v.4

26 February 2013—Blueback Reservoir released version 4.0 of the Blueback Project Tracker plug-in for Petrel, a plug-in for Petrel for data managers to track and monitor Petrel projects from all their Petrel users. Currently, there are more than 45 oil companies worldwide allowing data managers and users to control and manage Petrel projects on their network disks using the Blueback Project Tracker.
 
Based on extensive user feedback, the release of the Blueback Project Tracker v4.0 has a series of upgrades and improvements. Version 4.0 introduces project rule alerts and notifications where a default set of project rules are supplied to determine if correct data management practices and Petrel project integrity are being followed. The release also presents a seismic file manager to perform fast searches on network locations for seismic files and a new project manager allowing data managers to flag specific projects with a list of attributes.

 

Spatial Energy introduces TapSpatial mobile geospatial app for iPad

27 February 2013—Spatial Energy introduced the TapSpatial mobile app for the iPad. The app is designed with oil and gas professionals in mind and allows iPad users to access a global imagery base map, import other spatial data content, and mash up layers into custom maps they can take into the field for offline use.

Available for free at the Apple App Store, TapSpatial includes access to an up-to-date, high-resolution image data covering the entire world. Additionally, iPad users can tap directly into their own proprietary enterprise data service or spatial content from other Web sources, including Esri, Bing Maps, and Google Maps. Users may also purchase a subscription to access premium Spatial Energy content, such as digital elevation models, bathymetry, land grid, well locations, and a variety of remote sensing imagery.
