These sales stem from a combination of the company's 3D EM data library in Brazil, the Norwegian Sea, and the Barents Sea. The revenues will be recognized in the first quarter of 2013. 27 February 2013—Randy Johns has joined FairfieldNodal as the director of new ventures. Johns brings nearly 40 years of experience in the seismic industry to FairfieldNodal, including, most recently, 20 years as the vice president of marketing for the offshore division of Seismic Exchange. Prior to this, he served for 10 years as the chairman of the southeast region for IAGC, while employed by Geophysical Field Surveys in Jackson, USA. 18 February 2013—Arnold Furlong has joined GeoSpectrum Technologies Inc. as a partner. Arnold arrives from Rolls-Royce (formerly Brooke Ocean and ODIM Brooke Ocean) where he was a program executive and one of the founders of the company. 4 March 2013—Geotrace announced the appointment of Phil Beale as reservoir services manager overseeing Europe Africa and the Middle East. Based in the UK office, Beale is also responsible for geoscience consulting business development initiatives in the EAME region. 5 March 2013—Schlumberger introduced the DigiScope slimhole measurement-while-drilling (MWD) service. The signal from the DigiScope slimhole MWD technology transmits high-quality data to the surface for real-time reservoir description and geosteering in land, extended-reach, and deepwater wells. This new high-speed telemetry service powers the complete suite of Schlumberger slimhole logging-while-drilling services in the same bottomhole assembly. Fully compatible with the Orion II data compression platform, the DigiScope service applies a unique modulation algorithm to transmit high-quality data from the deepest wells for wellbore surveying, drilling optimization, and advanced formation evaluation. 5 March 2013—Spectrum has completed the processing on the final phase of its equatorial margin long-offset 2D campaign for Round 11 offshore Brazil. The data for the 4133 km Potiguar Basin survey are complete and available for immediate use to evaluate the six blocks being offered in the Potiguar Basin for Round 11. With the completion of the Potiguar Survey, Spectrum now has in excess of 38,000 km of new long-offset 2D data available to assist industry in evaluation of the blocks on offer for Round 11. Dolphin has secured a three year call-off agreement with Shell in Europe, a 3D survey for Genel in Morocco, a 3D assignment in the North Sea with Centrica, and a further 3D project in Tanzania for Statoil. In addition, OMV Petrom Romania has agreed to a framework agreement with Dolphin to provide offshore marine services. |
