Business News for the week of 11 March 2013 News section front TGS announces two multiclient 3D seismic surveys in Norwegian Barents Sea 7 March 2013—TGS will commence the Europe 2013 acquisition season with two 3D multiclient surveys in the Norwegian Barents Sea: Finnmark Platform 2013 (FP13) covering 3500 km2and the Hoop to Fingerdjupet 2013 (HF13) covering 8600 km2. Both 3D seismic surveys cover areas of complex geology and are designed to address specific customer imaging requirements. Data from both surveys will be processed utilizing TGS' Clari-FiTMbroadband processing technology. The HF13 survey will also tie in TGS' Hoop 3D in the east. The FP 13 survey is scheduled to commence March 2013 and will be acquired by the M/V Geo Barents towing eight streamers. The HF13 survey is scheduled to commence in early 2013 and will be acquired by the M/V Oceanic Challenger with 12 streamers. Data processing for both surveys will be performed by TGS and initial data will be available to clients in late 2013.
Dolphin Geophysical commences the Finnmark platform 3D multiclient project, Barents Sea, Norway 7 March 2013—Dolphin Geophysical in partnership with Searcher Seismic announced a 1407 km2 nonexclusive 3D multiclient seismic project on the Finnmark Platform in the Barents Sea, Norway. Processing has commenced in Dolphin's UK Center using their proprietary OpenCPS software. The processing sequence has been designed to enhance the imaging of the primary Jurassic targets at around 1 s TWT. In addition, processing will focus on providing improved definition of the deeper Triassic and Permian Clastics. A full suite of deliverables will be produced during the processing. With planned infrastructure in Veidnes outside Honningsvåg in Finnmark announced by Statoil, the survey area is receiving a renewed interest from industry. Therefore, these data will be available for participating companies from late 2013 or earlier in preparation for the Norwegian 23rd round nomination process.
Dolphin multiclient surveys in the UK 7 March 2013—Dolphin Geophysical's 3D seismic vessel the Polar Duke will shortly commence acquisition of their remaining UK quads 29 and 30 SHarp Broadband high-resolution 3D multiclient survey. It is estimated that it will take approximately five months to complete the current planned survey coverage, which was partially acquired last year. Dolphin's sister vessel the Polar Duchess will complete the survey after the Polar Duke leaves the area because of committed contract work. Phase-1 of the survey was acquired last year, about 20 percent of the now programmed SHarp Broadband 3D coverage, has already undergone extensive PSTM processing tests which were overseen by several companies using Dolphin's in-house proprietary OpenCPS software at their UK Center. AVO and inversion testing was also commenced last month and these results will be reviewed with committed clients during March. Dolphin will deliver to all committed clients a high-end, fast-track volume, as well as the final full PSTM data sets later this year. AVO, inversion and possibly PSDM data sets will be defined with involvement from clients. |
