Business News for the week of 8 April 2013 News section front CGG crews celebrate safety milestones in Saudi Arabia 11 April 2013—CGG announced that three acquisition crews operating in Saudi Arabia on behalf of Saudi Aramco have achieved impressive safety records. Two OBC crews have completed six million and five million man-hours of continuous operations without a lost-time Incident (LTI), respectively, while a third vibroseis crew has crossed the milestone of seven million man-hours of continuous operations without LTI. All three crews are operated by ARGAS, CGG's joint venture with TAQA in Saudi Arabia. OBC crew S66 has been working in the Arabian Gulf for over two-and-a-half years while OBC crew S65 also worked in that region for over two years. Both crews have achieved outstanding air gun production rates while recording 4C data with the Sercel SeaRay seabed acquisition system. Each crew deploys 250 people and 8–10 vessels in areas that are congested with production fields, pipelines, and vessel routes. Vibroseis crew S61, mobilizing 875 people, has been operating for the last three-and-a-half years in desert areas in extreme weather conditions.
INOVA Geophysical makes changes to its executive structure 11 April 2013—NOVA Geophysical has reached its third year of operations and has made some adjustments to its executive staff to better manage its growth. Keith Witt has been promoted to CFO and senior vice president of operations and administration, where he maintains his prior responsibilities of overseeing operational finance, sales administration, and IT for INOVA in addition to his new role as CFO. Witt has held various senior finance positions in the UK and Netherlands. He holds a BS in accounting and economics from the University of Southampton in the UK and ACMA professional qualifications. Carey Mogdan has been promoted to COO and senior vice president of global manufacturing and customer service. Previously, Mogdan served as INOVA's senior vice president of manufacturing for North America. Prior to joining INOVA, he was a vice president at Tarpon Energy Services and earlier in his career held senior management roles in both domestic and international manufacturing operations. Mogdan has a BS from the University of Alberta and holds designations from the Canadian Institute of Management, the Project Management Institute and the American Society for Quality. |
