Schlumberger delivers enterprise knowledge management for IT professionals

15 May 2013—Schlumberger released Studio Manager, which delivers information management capabilities for the studio E&P knowledge environment. Studio Manager allows information management professionals to proactively track asset team progress and resolve data issues working interactively with users of the Petrel E&P software platform.

The Studio environment allows E&P experts to find relevant data, collaborate with peers, and capture and share best practices in the context of their current Petrel workflow. Indexing technology provides access to both structured and unstructured data in Studio repositories, as well as third-party applications and data sources.

Several oil and gas companies participated in beta testing Studio Manager as a part of the standard commercialization process. Key capabilities tested included managing data quality and database integrity, while at the same time seeing how asset team members used and shared technical information. Further feedback focused on the interface, which supports the ability to simultaneously notify relevant users of data updates.
