The 2nd Student Forum on Geophysics

The 2nd Student Forum on Geophysics co-organized by CNPC Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development (RIPED), Institute of Geology & Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and SEG China will be held in October in Beijing. The world well-known academician Mr. Guangding Liu will be the honorary chairman of the forum.

With the theme of Geophysics – Development and Growth, the forum will focus on geophysical issues on seismic rock physics, high fidelity seismic processing, complex surface and steep structure image, AVO analysis, high precision prestack elastic parameters inversion, fracture and anisotropy prediction, hydrocarbon detection, new technology of unconventional oil and gas geophysical method, comprehensive study of geology and geophysics, gravity, magnetic, electrical and electromagnetic exploration technology.

The forum welcomes submission of papers from both graduate and undergraduate students majored in geophysics from 17 universities and institutes including: University of Science & Technology in China, Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), University of Petroleum (E China), Yangtze University, Xi'an Shiyou University, Northeast Petroleum University, Jilin University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Southwest Petroleum University, Chengdu University of Technology, Ocean University of China, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and CNPC RIPED.

Paper

Please submit the paper abstract with 800-1000 words in Chinese following the abstract template and list the author's name, address, zip code, phone number, email in the abstract. All the abstracts will be emailed to student_forum@yeah.net.

The accepted paper will be presented at the forum. Each presenter will have 15 minutes to give the oral presentation and 15 minutes for Q&A and exchanges with invited experts. The presentation must be in both Chinese and English.

The organizing committee will select certain amount of excellent papers of the forum and the selected authors will be awarded with an Excellent Paper certificate.
 

Registration

The registration to the forum is complimentary. The forum will provide meals to all attendees and the attendees will be responsible for the lodging and transportation expenses.
