2008 Honors and Awards nominations
The SEG Honors and Awards Committee requests nominations for deserving recipients to be honored at the 2008 Annual Meeting.
Professional development
The tour schedule is almost complete for the SEG/EAGE Distinguished Instructor Short Course, "Concepts and Applications in 3D Seismic Imaging," led by Biondo Biondi.

You will not want to miss Distinguished Lecturer Don Steeples' talk "Some stupid shallow seismic experiments I have done.
SEG announces the premiere of the SEG/ExxonMobil Student Education Program
This education program is a 2-day course on the subject of multi-interdisciplinary subsurface integration for exploration and production. ExxonMobil will provide course materials, team exercises, and instructors.

SEG/Chevron Student Leadership applications are now being accepted
The SEG/Chevron Student Leadership Symposium (SLS) offers travel grants to students who are currently active officers of an SEG Student Section. Students receiving the SLS travel grants will participate in the SEG/Chevron Student Leadership Symposium.

The November issue of TLE features a nine-article special section on subsalt exploration.
AESE Meeting
Several SEG members, including William D. Underwood, Richard Green, Gary Robinson, Laurence R. Lines, Rachel T. Newrick, and Satinder Chopra, among other geophysicists gave invited talks at the 41st annual meeting of the Association of Earth Science Editors, Global Perspectives," in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on September 4-7.
