Houston 2009 call for papers
Approximately 700 papers were presented at the 2008 SEG Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, USA. Here is your opportunity to submit a paper for presentation at the 2009 SEG Annual Meetings in Houston, USA. Abstract submission will open 11 March for the 79th SEG International Exposition and Annual Meeting to be held 25–30 October. Begin preparing your abstract for submission by reading the official 2009 Abstract Kit today. The deadline for abstract submissions is 8 April 2009.

Distinguished and Honorary Lecturers
2009 DL Jack Bouska Spring 2009 SEG Distinguished Lecturer Jack Bouska is currently on his international tour titled “Integrating Seismic Acquisition and Processing.” Click here to view his abstract and a full itinerary of his tour.

Per AvsethSpring 2009 Europe Honorary Lecturer Per Avseth began his tour titled “Mind the gap in seismic reservoir prediction: How rock physics can bridge the gap between qualitative geology and quantitative geophysics” in February. His abstract and itinerary are available online.

DL and HL nominations solicited
The SEG Distinguished Lecture Committee is soliciting Distinguished Lecturer  (DL) nominations for spring 2010, and Honorary Lecturer  (HL) nominations for Europe, Pacific South, and South and East Asia regions for 2010. If you would like to submit a nomination(s), complete the DL nomination form  and/or the HL nomination form  and submit it via e-mail by 9 March.

2009 DISC "Petroleum Geoengineering”
Patrick CorbettThe 2009 SEG/EAGE Distinguished Instructor Short Course (DISC) titled Petroleum Geoengineering: Integration of Static and Dynamic Models" will go to North America in April. The course, instructed by Patrick Corbett, will visit Midland, Dallas, Calgary, Houston, and Denver in late April.
