Encyclopedia of Exploration Geophysics welcomes proposals

SEG is actively accepting proposals for submissions to a new special publication, the Encyclopedia of Exploration Geophysics, edited by Vladimir Grechka and Kees Wapenaar.

Articles submitted for the Encyclopedia should be written at an introductory level, accessible to students and practicing geophysicists who wish to learn an unfamiliar exploration subject, or at a more advanced level, intended for readers who already have some working knowledge and would like to deepen and extend it.

Potential authors should download and complete the proposal form and email it to encyclopedia@seg.org. Editors will review proposals and communicate with authors about development of their work.

The first two articles, "Seismic characterization of fractured reservoirs" by Vladimir Grechka and "Wide-azimuth amplitude-variation-with-offset analysis of anisotropic fractured reservoirs" by Andreas Rüger and David Gray, are available for free download from the SEG Digital Library.

Articles will continue to be published online in SEG eBooks after each is approved, edited, and formatted. A collection of concise, up-to-date, application-oriented articles covering all areas of exploration geophysics, the Encyclopedia will be produced in a print version after most of the content has been posted online.
