Interpretation call for papersInterpretation and integration of CSEM dataControlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) data can be interpreted to provide estimates of resistivity in the earth, which provide complementary information to that obtained from conventional seismic methods. Whereas seismic can provide detailed images of structure and stratigraphy, determining fluid properties within intervals of interest can be challenging, or in some cases impossible. Robust integration of CSEM-derived results within a geologic framework provides a method of reducing interpretation uncertainty. The editors of Interpretation invite papers on the topic Interpretation and integration of CSEM data for publication in the August 2014 special section or supplement. Contributions are invited on the analysis, interpretation, and integration of CSEM data with seismic, well log, or other data types for the purpose of improving the quality and robustness of reservoir characterization or geologic interpretation:
Interested authors should submit their manuscripts for review no later than 1 October 2013. In addition, the special section/supplement editors would like to receive a provisional title and list of authors as soon as possible. Authors should submit via the normal online submission system for Interpretation (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/interpretation) and select this topic in the manuscript type dropdown option. The submitted papers will be subject to the regular peer-review process, and the contributing authors are also expected to participate in the review process as reviewers. We will work according to the following timeline:
