Student Chapters Section 1. In keeping with the objectives of this Society, the formation of Student Chapters at recognized colleges or universities shall be encouraged by the Executive Committee

Article X.

Student Chapters Section

Section 1. Formation of a Student Chapter may be authorized by the Executive Committee, providing a petition is submitted by ten or more graduate or undergraduate students in residence and a faculty advisor. Membership in the Society is recommended but not mandatory for the petitioners.

Section 2. A Student Chapter shall adopt bylaws which are consistent with the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society. Their bylaws shall be approved by the Executive Committee before affiliation is granted.

Section 3. The Executive Committee or Council may at any time sever the affiliation with any Student Chapter.
