Call for Executive Committee nominations

Each year, the election of the SEG Executive Committee expresses one of our fundamental values: that our leadership should be chosen by the Active Members in a free election from a slate of candidates. It is already time to start that election process for the 2010–2011 Executive Committee.

The Nominating Committee is composed of the three immediate past presidents, and four Active Members representing four Sections or Associated Societies (which are selected in a random, rotating manner). This committee works to qualify a slate of at least two candidates for each office for presentation to the Active Membership.

The officers to be elected in 2010 are:

  • president-elect
  • first vice-president
  • second vice-president
  • vice-president
  • secretary-treasurer

District representative vacancies in Disctricts 1, 2, 3, 7, 11, and 12 also will be filled with this election.

The Nominating Committee hereby solictits your suggestions for input to its process of selecting nominees for the above offices. You may offer your suggestions to the Committee via e-mail. Please provide a brief biography of the suggested candidate, emphasizing those facts that serve to qualify the candidate for SEG office. We ask that you also indicate that the candidate has agreed to serve if elected and provide their contact information. Candidates must be Active Members of the SEG in order to be eligible to serve.
