Bekker appointed CEO of EMGS
26 May 2009—Electromagnetic Geoservices announced that the board has appointed Roar Bekker as chief executive officer effective 26 May 2009. Bekker has been chief operating officer in EMGS since December 2007 and has been temporary CEO since December.

Bekker holds a master's degree in geophysics and has more than 20 years of international management experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining EMGS, was vice president of Industry Affairs for Schlumberger Norway. 

SMT extends technical support in Spanish for Latin American market
26 May 2009—SMT announced that it provides primary technical support for its flagship product, KINGDOM, in Spanish for the company’s Latin American customer base. Customers located in Trinidad, Tobago, and Brazil, will continue to receive support in English and/or Portuguese.

SMT’s strategic partner, Geoinfo SRL, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, provides the Spanish language support on behalf of SMT. SMT remains focused on continued expansion in the South American market, and Geoinfo will play an even greater role in this geography.

Along with the addition of Spanish support, SMT provides its global customers technical support in six different languages: English, French, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish.  

The company’s geoscientific support staff is trained to help clients with all SMT software applications available and provides assistance to customers with any problem that may be incurred while using SMT products and services. Technical support is available through phone, e-mail, or fax.
