Fugro-Jason releases Jason Geoscience Workbench 8.2

Fugro-Jason released Jason Geoscience Workbench 8.2, the latest version of Jason Geoscience Workbench (JGW). For the first time, all Fugro-Jason products will be available for all current Microsoft Windows operating environments. JGW 8.2 integrates geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and rock physics information into a single consistent model of the Earth.

JGW is a seismic-to-simulation suite of applications that enable users to build a single consistent model of the Earth that can be used to locate hydrocarbons and drive drilling and production programs. With JGW, seismic, well-log, and statistical data can be directly input and used to calculate a geologic model or series of models. JGW 8.2 includes 3D seismic inversion, wavelet estimation, geostatistical inversion, AVA simultaneous inversion, rock physics, petrophysics, reservoir modeling, and advanced analysis and 3D visualization.

This version also introduces the Multiattribute well interpolator (MAWI) application, which provides a method for building low-frequency geologic models driven by seismic attributes. MAWI is a new JGW application that makes it easier to make accurate low-frequency models of JGW inversions. Available as an add-on module, MAWI is used by petrophysicists and geologists as part of the overall reservoir characterization workflow.

Geosoft Named International Partner of the Year by ESRI

29 March 2010- Geosoft was the recipient of the 2010 ESRI International Partner of the Year award. The ESRI Business Partner Awards recognize partners for outstanding achievements in the areas of solution development, services or sales, and the fostering of ESRI technology into key markets.

ESRI and Geosoft are collaborating to deliver integrated software solutions for the global mining and geosciences sector. Since 2003, Geosoft has been developing workflow solutions for surface and subsurface exploration across the ESRI and Geosoft software environments. These include Target for ArcGIS, an application for subsurface geology and Geochemistry for ArcGIS, an application for geochemical QA and analysis. A longstanding ESRI Business Partner, Geosoft was also the ESRI International Partner of the Year in 2007.

Fusion Petroleum Technologies appoints president

31 March 2010 - usion Petroleum Technologies (FPTI), the US operating arm of FusionGeo appointed Richard Koseluk as president and chief operating officer effective 1 April 2010. Koseluk will manage the daily operations of the services business of FPTI, and will work closely with Alan R. Huffman, chairman and CEO of FusionGeo. Koseluk will assume responsibility for the US service operations of the business, which will allow Huffman to spend more time on growth of the international businesses and development of new technologies.
