Seymour Ventures to change its name to Rare Earth Industries Ltd.

12 July 2011—Seymour Ventures has received all necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals to change its name to Rare Earth Industries Ltd., effective 13 July 2011. Effective at the open of the market on 13 July 2011 the company commenced trading under the new symbol "RND."

 

Major upgrade to COMSOL's acoustics module enables realistic acoustic simulations of mobile devices and automotive components

12 July 2011—COMSOL announced the release of a major upgrade of its add-on acoustics module for its flagship product COMSOL multiphysics. This latest version of the acoustics module offers new capabilities and expanded multiphysics user interfaces for simulating thermoacoustic effects, poroelastic waves, acoustic-shell interactions, and piezo-acoustic devices. The new version of the acoustics module is available immediately.

The new capabilities of the acoustics module are fully compatible with all the COMSOL add-on modules. Any acoustics phenomena can link to any other physics effect.

 

CGGVeritas completes 3D BroadSeis survey for Shell in Gabon

12 July 2011—CGGVeritas has completed a 3D BroadSeis seismic survey for Shell over complex salt structures in deep water offshore Gabon.

As a complement to a conventional acquisition project (7,900 km2), the 3D BroadSeis survey was acquired by the CGGVeritas Symphony operating with ten Sercel Sentinelsolid streamers equipped with the Sercel Nautilus streamer-control device. Dovetail, a new proprietary CGGVeritas acquisition and processing solution designed to reduce infill and achieve more regular sampling, was also deployed on this project.

 

TGS announces new 2D survey in Laptev and East Siberian Seas

12 July 2011—TGS will commence acquisition of a new 7,700 km 2D survey in the Russian Arctic Sea.  Data acquisition will begin in early August with 4,500 km in the Laptev Sea before the vessel moves to the East Siberian Sea to acquire an additional 3,200 km. The survey is in partnership with Dalmornefte Geophysica Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (DMNG).

The seismic data will be acquired by M/V Akademik Fersman and will be completed in late 2011.  Data processing from the new acquisition will be performed by DMNG and available to clients from early 2012.
