DownUnder GeoSolutions appoints new COO

27 November 2012—DownUnder GeoSolutions appointed Paul Crute as chief operations officer. Crute joins the company with a career in the resources sector behind him. He has held senior executive and management roles in the resources and oil and gas industry for over 25 years, most recently as executive general manager of human resources at Oil Search Ltd. Prior to that position Crute had a long career with BHP Billiton as vice president of human resources for many of their divisions around the world.

DownUnder GeoSolutions is based in Perth, but has a large hub in Malaysia and has recently opened offices in Brisbane, Singapore, London, and Houston.

 

TGS commences extension to offshore Angola 3D multiclient survey

27 November 2012—TGS has commenced an extension to the offshore Angola 3D multi-client survey. The extension, covering 4064 km2over blocks 36 and 37, will add to the original survey of 12,500 km2, which has completed acquisition.    

The seismic data are being acquired by the M/V Geco Eagle. Data processing will be performed by TGS and preliminary data will be available to clients in late 2013.

 

EMGS awarded 3D EM contract in Malaysia by Shell

28 November 2012—Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA has been awarded a contract worth approximately US $7 million by Shell to acquire 3D electromagnetic (EM) data offshore Malaysia. The 3D EM survey will be performed from the vessel EM Leader and will start upon completion of its current work program.
