Abstract Guidelines

Poster Abstract Deadline: 5 September 2013

Method: PDF is preferred; please submit your abstract as soon as possible. Abstracts will appear exactly as submitted.

Please proofread your abstract!

Abstract Format:

General: 8.5" x 11" page size, 12-pt Arial font, single-spaced lines.

Title: Bold upper and lowercase, left margin alignment, one blank line following title.

Authors: Last name, first name, and initial in uppercase font, followed by affiliated university/employer in normal font; senior author first, followed by secondary authors; if poster speaker is not senior author, place an asterisk (*) after speaker's name; one blank line following author listing.

Abstract Body: 250 word limit, no illustrations, no references, no abbreviations, no bold font, full justification paragraph alignment, indent first line of each paragraph.

Please note:

Only the first 200 posters will be accepted. If you plan to present a poster, please submit your abstract early to be considered. After the limit has been reached, students will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified if space becomes available.

Abstracts must be related to geoscience. Although an abstract may have multiple authors, we will only accept one presenter per poster during poster presentations and only one poster per presenter; all others will be rejected.

If you have submitted an abstract, but will be unable to present a poster, notify Jake Siegel at student.expo.students@gmail.com as soon as possible. Students who do not notify Jake that they will not be presenting a poster by 10 September will not be permitted to present a poster the following year.
