Resume Guidelines - Resumes longer than two pages will not be accepted
- Resumes must be submitted with registration
- Resumes submitted prior to 5 September will be available in digital format to company sponsors
- No editing or reformatting of resumes once submitted
- Use a font that is standard on both Mac and PC and no smaller than 10-pt
- 8.5 x 11 inch page size (not limited to one page). 1.50 inch left margin (to accommodate binding), all other margins 1 inch
- Do not include a cover letter with your resume
- Proof-read your resume!
- Please use the following naming convention on your resume:
Lastname_Firstname_Specialty (i.e., Yilmaz_Oz_Geophysics; Bouma_Arnold_Geology) Note: Upload must be a PDF. Tips for a Good Resume - Include only information that is relevant to attaining a job, such as relevant course work, research, or geoscience employment
- Place education and relevant experience near the top of your resume
- Highlight skills and abilities that benefit the company
- Be concise; use "action" verbs to quickly describe your past experiences
- No personal pronouns
- Avoid general or flowery objective statements
- Proof-read your resume; mis-spelled words or typos do not give a good impression
- Take advantage of the many resources available online and through your school to create a professional resume
Resume Review On Tuesday, 18 September, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. recruiters from Agile 1 will be available to evaluate and make suggestions for improvement of your resume. Sign up appointment times will be at the Agile 1 Booth during the Expo. |
