4D seismic monitoring of reservoir fluid flow and other time-variant subsurface phenomena can be achieved with active or passive source seismology.
Conventionally, 4D seismic monitoring with active source wavefields is typically done via prestack time migration analysis. Instead, we are interested in new developments and case study analyses that demonstrate the need to use the full time-lapse wavefields more accurately, for example 4D PSDM, 4D WEMVA or 4D FWI.
Similarly, passive-source monitoring of reservoirs typically involves data from a few sparse sensor locations, picked event arrival times, and triangulation of microseismic event locations. Instead, we are interested in new developments and case study analyses that demonstrate the improvement in passive monitoring by using dense (eg. permanent) receiver arrays that capture the full 4D microseismic wavefields, using passive wavefield and scattered-noise imaging techniques, moment tensor solutions etc.
This workshop intends to have a balanced 50/50 distribution of presentation time versus discussion periods to fully engage attendee participation.
