Four Global Affairs Committee Luncheons are scheduled during this year's Annual Meeting. All delegates with international interests are cordially invited to attend and participate in these events. Luncheon attendees must have a ticket for admission.

Professor, Dean of the College of Geophysics and Information Engineering
Deputy Director of the State Key Lab of Petroleum Resources and Prospecting, China University of Petroleum

Lizhi XiaoLizhi Xiao obtained a BSc in Geophysical Well Logging from Jianghan Petroleum Institute in 1982 and an MSc in Geophysics from China University of Mining and Technology in 1987, and his Ph.D in Physics from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995. He studied at the University of Nottingham, UK, supported by the Royal Society and then joined Western Atlas in London in 1996. He has worked for Halliburton Energy Services since 1998 and joined China University of Petroleum as Changjiang Scholar in 2003. Lizhi has published more than 100 technical papers and co-authored the NMR logging Principles and Applications book which is very well recognized by the logging industry and highly cited (more than 360 times so far) by scholars. He is currently involved in projects of prospecting fundamentals and high-end equipments for unconventional oil and gas.
