Four Global Affairs Committee Luncheons are scheduled during this year's Annual Meeting. All delegates with international interests are cordially invited to attend and participate in these events. Tickets for the luncheons can be purchased in advance (see registration form) or onsite (in limited quantities) at the Event Ticket Sales Booth located in the Registration Area. Luncheon attendees must have a ticket for admission.

Sergio PersogliaSergio Persoglia joined the OGS in 1981, where he has been head of a team for R & D in Seismics, Director of the department Geophysics of the Lithosphere, Advisor to the OGS President and Director for International Collaborations. Retired in January 2011, he is now member of the OGS Board of Directors.  Expert in seismic data collection and processing, he has been scientific and/or operative responsible for OGS in many national programs (Deep Crust in Italy and the Geophysical Surveys in the seas around Antarctica) and European projects (among which Castor, IncaCO2, CO2GeoNet, CO2ReMoVe, Geocapacity, RISCS, CO2Care, SiteChar, CGS Europe and ECCSEL, all dealing with the geological storage of CO2). 

He has been Network Manager and Secretary of CO2GeoNet, the European Network of Excellence on the Geological Storage of CO2, President in 2001 and 2010 of ENeRG, the European network of research institutes performing studies on geo-energy (from 31 European countries) and coordinator, until November 2012, of the Joint Programme on CO2 Geological Storage of EERA (European Energy Research Alliance). 

Sergio Persoglia holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Trieste, Italy. At present, he is Secretary General of the association CO2GeoNet.
