Where and when is the SEG Annual Meeting being held?

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists will hold the International Exposition and 83rd Annual Meeting 22-27 September 2013 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX.

What is the purpose of SEG's Annual Meeting?

The SEG Annual Meeting will bring together the industry's most qualified professionals to explore international business opportunities, see the latest technological advances in all aspects of geophysics, instruments and computers, and network and share new theories and advances in the science.

How can I register to attend SEG's Annual Meeting?

You may register online on the SEG Web site by visiting http://www.seg.org/amregister as the date of the meeting approaches. Discounts will be made available for "Early-Bird" Registration and certain classes of SEG membership. Do I have to be an SEG member to attend the Annual Meeting?

No, you do not have to be a member of SEG to attend the Annual Meeting.

What types of events will be held at the Annual Meeting?

Some of the featured events will be the Technical Program with over 700 presentations, the exhibition featuring 350 companies from around the globe, the SEG Forum with speakers addressing the most pressing issues in geosciences, continuing education classes, and workshops.

How many people usually attend the Annual Meeting?

An average of 8,400 people have attended the Annual Meeting each year in recent years.

May my spouse attend the meeting, and if so, which events may he/she attend?

Spouses may attend any of the public events. There is also a Spouse Program with special tours and luncheon speakers. Spouses must register for the Spouse Program. More details will be provided closer to the event.

Do I have to receive an invitation to attend functions?

The majority of the functions are open to all attendees. There are a few that will require an invitation.

Are U.S. airports enforcing strict requirements on ticket holder ID's?

Yes. Over the coming months when booking airline travel, travelers may be asked to provide their name as it appears on the government ID they plan to use when traveling. Airlines will also ask passengers to provide their date of birth and gender.
