What will I be doing as a volunteer? Is there a minimum amount of hours I have to
volunteer?

There are two different volunteer opportunities available at the Annual Meeting this year and they include Technical Program Session Monitors and Applied Science Education Program Tour Guides. Volunteer time slots for the Technical Program are four hours each, and slots for the Applied Science Program are three hours each.

What are the duties for Technical Program Session Monitors?

Monitors will observe their assigned session room and report any problems, requests, etc. that may arise during the course of the session. Monitors will also be in charge of taking an attendance count during each presentation in the session.

What are the duties for Applied Science Education Program Tour Guides?

At the program, guides will be asked to help distribute student badges as students arrive, as well as to help seat students before the key note address. Following the one hour keynote address, guides will take a group of 10‐15 students on a designated tour of the Exhibit Hall.

What are the benefits of volunteering?

Volunteers will be given a half day pass to the exhibit hall and the technical session (for that same day) for each time slot worked. Please note that SEG is unable to assist with travel/hotel accommodations.

What happens if my availability changes after I sign up and I am unable to fulfill my obligations?

Please notify the volunteer coordinator immediately at volunteers@seg.org. We do ask that you find a replacement if you notify us within two weeks of the meeting.

How do I sign up to volunteer or ask questions?

Send an email to volunteers@seg.org.
