Annual giving critical to SEG Foundation success In case we haven’t told you lately, thank you for supporting the SEG Foundation! We have raised nearly US$150 000 this year toward operational expenses. This does not include funds raised for specific programs and initiatives. Although the year is quickly coming to a close, more unrestricted funds are needed to ensure the ongoing success of your Foundation. Without unrestricted funding, we would not be able to support the geophysical community with programs like scholarships, travel grants, professional development, SEG Online, and Geoscientists Without Borders. Your unrestricted gift is the backbone of the SEG Foundation. To recognize your critical role in our success, the Board of Directors has formed three key donor clubs. While many of you may find that one club suits your needs, others may find themselves participating in more than one club simultaneously. Doodlebugger Society is your club for annual gifts of $50 to $999. Students can participate as well with an annual gift of $25. There are three recognition levels within the Doodlebugger Society. Members choose their level of support and receive various benefits in return, such as a Doodlebugger Society lapel pin, recognition in Carrying the Torch or The Leading Edge, and a print of the famous Jug Hustler watercolor for members of the highest level. High Velocity is our newest club for donors providing annual gifts between $1000 and $5000. In addition to receiving different member benefits at three separate giving levels, members of High Velocity receive special opportunities to engage SEG Foundation leadership in efforts to positively impact the geophysical community. Each member of High Velocity also receives a coveted invitation to the exciting SEG Foundation donor luncheon, held in conjunction with the SEG Annual Meeting. Trustee Associates are the premier group of SEG Foundation supporters. Trustee Associates have a long-standing reputation for delivering programs and activities that the worldwide geophysical community needs. Through their own financial commitments to the SEG Foundation and their unwavering efforts to raise funds and affect positive change, the Trustee Associates are largely responsible for the success of the Foundation over the past two decades. The Board of Directors recently enhanced the Trustee Associates donor club to energize the Foundation and to make the club more accessible to geophysical leaders with a passion for improving our community and promoting our profession. Thanks to these enhancements, any individual donor who has given $10 000 or more cumulatively will be eligible to join this prestigious group of dedicated geophysical leaders as a Trustee Associate. You can join any of these donor clubs today and support your geophysical community. Your gift, no matter its size, will make a difference. By working together, we will accomplish what no one can do alone. Learn more about annual giving and donor clubs. |
