Taylor Sophia Y. Wyss Colorado School of Mines 2008-2009 Anadarko/SEG Scholarship Thank you for expressing interest in former Anadarko Scholarship recipients such as myself… That scholarship meant a lot to me and all the other recipients. I am still a student at CSM majoring in geophysics. My long term career goal remains to earn an advanced degree in seismology and work as a seismologist after earning an undergraduate degree in engineering geophysics. This past year has been quite a challenge for me. What I have learned is the fine art of balancing personal responsibilities with medical issues while striving to reach my academic goals. More than anything I know that I will persevere in meeting my goals. I wish I could say and report on many academic accomplishments but for me the greatest accomplishment is that I am still in school and aiming towards a career in the field that I continue to have a passion for. Recently, someone asked me what accomplishment I am most proud of and without hesitation I responded, "When I received the Anadarko/SEG Scholarship through the SEG Foundation". You see it is that vote of confidence, a belief in me to succeed, that helped sustain me this past year while balancing the challenges I faced. Sincerely, Taylor Sophia Y.
