SEG Technical Program Student Travel Grant

(formerly known as the SEG Foundation Annual Meeting Travel Grant Program)

SEG Technical Program Student Travel Grants are designed primarily for students presenting papers at the SEG Annual Meeting. In addition to having the opportunity to engage in the many activities available at SEG's Annual Meeting, students receiving an SEG Technical Program Student Travel Grant award will receive a per diem, hotel accommodations, and travel to the Meeting. The 2015 Annual Meeting will take place 18-23 October 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Students applying must:

  • Submit their paper (abstract) through the SEG Technical Program.
  • Be an SEG student member, and must have been an SEG student member for at least one year.

Colorado School of Mines Students will be given first priority, in accordance with the donor's request.

Required applicant eligibility

  1. The applicant must be an active and current SEG Student Member for at least one year.
  2. The applicant must be pursuing a degree in Geosciences.
  3. The applicant must have above average grades.
  4. The applicant must have submitted a paper through the SEG Technical Program.
  5. The applicant must be in compliance with the SEG/OFAC sanctions compliance procedures and policies.

Required applicant documentation

  • Letter of recommendation in support of the applicant from a faculty advisor or a professor with whom the applicant is academically acquainted.
  • Academic transcripts for the most recent three years of the applicant's university study. (Graduate students will need to provide their undergraduate transcripts.)
